It is a beautiful time to be a bride. Every bride has options. However, there are rarely as many options as there are right now. In this article, we will show you current fashion trends and show you what to expect in 2019.

Gilded Gowns

The gilded gown began trending in 2017. These formal gowns are accented with beautiful detail. This year gold is the most preferred fabric hue, but silver, metallic green, and rose gold are popular as well.

With the influence of the royal wedding, many brides are going back to traditional gowns of white. The gowns are bright white or diamond white. Sleeves of sheer fabric embellished from the shoulder to the wrists with lace are making an appearance.

The gilded gown carries a regal look. The bride who graces this gown will carry a bouquet of soft pastel roses.

Note: the cape is taking the place of a veil in many cases. Brides are opting for tierras. This completes their look of elegance.

Current gowns are all about accenting the bride’s face, neck, and shoulders. Gowns frame the upper body. The average size bride is going with the sweetheart neckline. Brides who have large breasts are opting for the halter style. This allows the bride to show off her curves without looking top heavy.

Capes and Capetts

Capes are the perfect solution for the bride who does not want to wear a veil. The cape can take the place of the veil, and the train is she so chooses. A shorter version that falls to the mid back is called a capett. This is a choice for the bridal gown and the bridesmaids. Capes, (and gowns) come in a wide range of vibrant colors. Pastels are stepping back for the deep hues of yellows, reds, and purples.

The deep colors of the bridesmaids dresses are made more breathtaking with the choices of fabric. You will see more gowns of chiffon, and charmeuse. Most bridesmaids will have dresses that have a satin finish.

Note: A bride wearing colors has her choice of dress options. But, this year, brides that are wearing white are going for a royal look, and that calls for long sleeves.

It is an exciting year for bridesmaids. Bridesmaid dresses are breathing. The colors that are in demand are red, rust, burgundy, navy, and black. The look is ultra chic.

The flower halos that have been popular in 2018 are being replaced by floral hair combs, with floral anklets that match. This year, bouquets will be taken back a bit. Brides and bridesmaids will not be carrying a bouquet with massive greenery that is easily used for a centerpiece at the reception. The eye is drawn to the bridesmaids and then to the elegant bride.

Important items

We all know how important the undergarments are for the bride. However, we sometimes forget the bridesmaids will be in the photographs too. Some gowns have a high slit on the leg. Others have a high-low hemline. The shoes draw the attention to the leg. It is important that all the women in the bridal party have on the right hosiery, pantyhose, stockings, or thigh highs. These items give the leg a finished look. With some gowns, pantyhose allows the fabric to flow and there are no signs of pantie lines. You can order these items online. It is a good idea to order an extra set of your choice, just in case you need them.

Groom and Groomsmen

This is the year for the return of the tuxedo. The groom must be ultra-chic. While the groomsmen may be told to wear white shirts with black ties. However, the groomsmen will wear his black tuxedo with a white bow-tie and vest.

If you are planning your wedding, you will want select dresses of deep colors. Modern gowns with traditional etiquette rules are the focus of the season. Understated cuts with silky reds, wines, and navys will give you the chic wedding of your dreams.
