Filling your wardrobe can be hard, especially on a budget; but it doesn’t have to be.  If you have a few basic Yvonne Marie items, you might find that you can come up with some excellent fashion-forward combinations. Here are four staples every woman should have:

Either in a tee-shirt or a long-sleeved tee shirt style, the striped shirt is essential in any versatile fashion collection. You can dress it down by simply wearing it slightly oversized with a pair of cut off (designer) denim and chukka boots. You can also dress it up as the character for a pencil skirt dress with fur collar paired with strappy sandals and an elegant bag.  Obviously, you can wear a striped tee with jeans for weekend errands, too; and then switch out the bottoms for a dramatic skirt when it is time to hit the town!

Perhaps this should be called the “no-brainer” but it does not go without saying that your closet needs at least one standard, versatile blazer.  Much like with male styles, the blazer can elevate the combo of rock star denim and white tee shirt with sneakers (aviators optional), but the look can be far more interesting on a female figure. Of course, you can always dress up a blazer, too, wearing it over a cashmere sweater or designer crop top with a more formal pant and heels.  Consider a satin ribbon to cinch the waist for a little more elegant detailing.

Figure-defining just past the knee, the pencil skirt can be fun and flirty but also elegant and demure.  Dress down the high-waisted skirt with a fun, stylish halter or tank and a jacket and pair with a trendy boots and complementary purse for a night on the town. Dress it up, however, with a matching coat and bralette combo and accessorize with elegant clutch and understated heels.

No matter what the standard weather is in your part of the world, a trench coat should be a standard element in your closet.  You can dress it down, obviously, as a simple and light final layer to your daily on-the-go outfits like skinny jeans with a tee or shirt-jacket and vest, and ankle boots. But you might also find times that a trench coat could be an alternative to a shawl or wrap dress with an understated shirt and skirt combo underneath.
